Lessons From SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE !!

Finally the wait for Global recognition in cinema is over for India. 8 Oscar Award winner movie Slumdog Millionaire has done it for India. A movie which was going to be released on DVDs only, is now running in cinema halls of even small towns as Slumdog Crorepati. Lot of people are questioning whether its the recognition for India or the British Crew behind the film. Whatever, but the point here is that this film has given global identity to Indian cinema and of course to Indian Music. Hatts off to A.R. Rehman and Gulzar sahab for producing such a wonderful track for the movie along with Russel Pokkutti for sound designing. Many people have put allegations of selling the poverty of India. Ya, Very true, it exists in our country and there is nothing wrong in putting it on Silver screen. We in our daily life dont want to face these realities and thats why it hurts when it comes before our eyes. We along with our responsible politicians should accept that there is poverty and BEGGING INDUSTRY exists in our country. The movie again is an eye-opener. As far as the plot of the movie is concerned it is full of coincidences. The hero of the movie knows the answer of all the questions of KBC because coincidently he had experienced some incidents linked to those questions. That may seem funny to many but the way this movie has been picturised is really credible and full marks for that to Director Danny Boyle, the captain of the ship !!

U may find the plot of LAGAN more realistic than this movie and the issue addressed in TAARE ZAMIN PAR more relevant but both the movies didnt win OSCARS. We should be proud of these movies and accept the fact that just not winning OSCARS cannot bring down the glory of Indian movies. Hundreds of technicians are involved in making a movie and when there efforts come together perfectly, a MAGIC happens and it has happened with SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. We must respect this magic and accept with a big heart !!
